Rent-A-Jeep: We Rented A Jeep Before We Bought One

The Jeep we rented and took offroad. Got an afternoon (or a weekend) to kill?

How about 70 bucks or so?

Then do like we did... be spontaneous, pack some snacks, maybe some camping gear, and rent a JEEP!

We ROCK at selling cars! (...or more specifically: Jeeps)

Our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale at the Super Shine Detail Center in Franklin, Tennessee. First we sold our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee in 3 days flat. To do it like we did, you might consider visiting Jose and the guys down at the Super Shine Detail Center in Franklin, Tennessee. Here's why...

A Gatlinburg 4th of July Vacation: On- and Off-Road!

Fourth of July flags and colorful flowers in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Welcome to Gatlinburg.

...The weekend forecast?

Well, Lynnette and Jim are coming, so you can expect showers.

Chances are good that you'll see plenty of rain.

And, some thunderstorms too.

Other than that, it should be nice and pleasant.

Enjoy your stay!

We did a lot of driving in and around Gatlinburg, Tennessee this weekend. While we dodged the rain for the most part, it finally caught up with us here at the NC/TN border. This is a picture of rain on the windshield.

This was certainly a last-minute trip like none other...

Our Trusty 'Ol Jeep Grand Cherokee

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee... SOLD!It's no secret that Jim & I love Jeep Wranglers. But Wranglers certainly aren't the only Jeeps worth driving, in our opinion.

For most of our married life together, we have owned at least one Jeep. Usually a Wrangler... but there for awhile, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was our vehicle of choice.

However, since we purchased the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited a few days ago, we now have four vehicles parked at our house right now -- 3 Jeeps and a sedan.

So we decided to sell our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee -- leaving us with 2 Jeep Wranglers and a Chevy Malibu.

Quick-Change Locations & Tips For Putting Your Jeep Soft Top Or Convertible Top Up In The Rain

How to go from "riding-in-a-convertible-while-dodging- the-rain" to "top-up" in a flash... while staying dry in the process!

Riding in the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the Sunrider top open... notice the black strap 'securing' the arms in place? I took the Jeep out for a spin this morning (with the Sunrider top down, and the back window rolled up & out of the way), and I got caught in a sudden rain storm.

Oh sure, I saw the skies darkening, but I only had "one more place to go" before I'd be back home -- then the Jeep would be parked safe and dry in my garage.

Wrong! Today's rain storm almost got the best of me...

Pros & Cons of Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds: A Review

2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited parked in the green grass of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Our 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has been one of the best (and most FUN!) vehicles we have ever owned!

While this brief overview about the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited covers most of the basic points, what follows is an overly-detailed review of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited -- from my own firsthand experience.

The Story of AJ: Our 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Yes, we bought ANOTHER Jeep... our 3rd one!

Lynnette at the used car dealership signing some papers and leaving a deposit for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that you see in the background. This one is a Jeep Wrangler "Unlimited". Which doesn't exactly mean what it sounds like: that it's some special edition Jeep like an Eddie Bauer version or something.

Instead, Unlimited refers to the fact that it's an "extended model". The rear seat and trunk area are double that in an ordinary Jeep Wrangler -- like dear 'ol Scruffy.

You can barely tell that the Unlimited is larger, but it suits us just perfectly -- especially with the two dogs and all the outdoor gear we always tote along.

Plus it's a full-blown 4x4 off-roader, so we're eager to put this Jeep through its paces to see how it handles off the beaten path.

We Love Jeeps!...Check Out My New Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

For years, Jim has been the Jeep lover in our family. For the most part, I've been the quiet Jeep passenger -- both on-road and off.

But who knew that I would become a future owner of a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited? And an almost new one at that?!

Lynnette's new 2004 Jeep Unlimited... the first full day she owned it was also the first day she drove it to work.

Here's a preview...

Annual Rite Of Passage For Jeep Owners: Removing The Hard Top & Praying For Warmer Weather

On the first warm day here in Nashville, Jim (the impatient one), couldn't wait one more second and just HAD to take the hard top off our Jeep Wrangler last Saturday.

Mind you, it only got to 64 degrees (with the sun shining)... and it dropped down to 37 that same night!

Driving from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon the next morning, we were faced with 'winter driving conditions' in Arizona! ...this!

Both photos were taken in Arizona. The first one was at our hotel in Phoenix late on Friday afternoon; the next one was just north of Sedona in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Wait... it gets better!
