Fun Jeep Tours: Go Offroading With A Group!

| Comments (0)

backseat-view-from-jeep-by-Debbie-Wogen.jpg Jeep tours are similar to Jeep rentals, but they're different in that tours are usually highly organized and structured. There is just enough flexibility built in to a Jeep tour that enables you to enjoy some offroading while you're seeing the sights.

Depending on the Jeep tour, sometimes a professional tour guide is at the wheel of the Jeep, and you are merely a passenger. Other times, you have the option of driving the Jeep yourself.

Rent A Wrangler: Where To Find Jeep Wrangler Rentals In The U.S. & Beyond

| Comments (0)

carefree-jeeping.jpg Did you know that you can rent Jeeps of various types at most of the national rental car companies?  However, the only nationwide rental car company that I know rents Jeep Wranglers is Dollar Rent-a-Car. They have Jeep Wranglers available in most states.

To find other car rental companies that let you rent 4x4 Jeeps that you can take offroad (or not), you'll have to dig a little deeper. Jeep rental companies are typically small, mom & pop shops. And, unless you know what to look for and where to look for them, they can be much harder to find.

So, if you're interested in renting a Jeep (for on- or offroad fun!), check the following list of Jeep rental agencies. It's organized by state...

Fun Gift Ideas For People Who Own Jeeps

One of my all-time favorite sites to go to for ordering Jeep stuff online is All Things Jeep.

Check it out. You won't be disappointed. Jean and Norman have a great selection of unique supplies for Jeep owners, including a terrific collection gift ideas for the Jeep lover.

I like their site better than a lot of the other Jeep sites out there because they have a lot of "retro" looking stuff, as well as classic (and classy) modern day gear and attire. Lots of unique stuff, that's for sure!

Here are my personal favorite gift ideas for the Jeeper in your life...

We Carved One-of-a-Kind Jeep Wrangler Pumpkins (ver. 1.0)

This was the first picture we took of our Halloween '05 pumpkin carving experience. It pretty much sums up the whole night... nothing but a blur. Okay, so the Halloween gods finally caught up with us this year, and we paid the price for our procrastination.

Dearly.

Here's how it all went down...

A Gatlinburg 4th of July Vacation: On- and Off-Road!

| Comments (6)

Fourth of July flags and colorful flowers in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Welcome to Gatlinburg.

...The weekend forecast?

Well, Lynnette and Jim are coming, so you can expect showers.

Chances are good that you'll see plenty of rain.

And, some thunderstorms too.

Other than that, it should be nice and pleasant.

Enjoy your stay!

We did a lot of driving in and around Gatlinburg, Tennessee this weekend. While we dodged the rain for the most part, it finally caught up with us here at the NC/TN border. This is a picture of rain on the windshield.

This was certainly a last-minute trip like none other...

  • Jim in our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the Sunrider top down. Notice the thick bars which act as braces for the soft top itself when it's down.
  • The 2 thick metal clamps that are attached to the Jeep soft top itself and are used to latch onto the Jeep's frame when the soft top is covering the 2 front seats.
  • The rain guards above each window on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's soft top.
  • Lynnette riding with the Sunrider top down in the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
  • Jim rolling up the Jeep's rear window -- to get at the food and fixin's for our cookout with the Freedom Grill.
  • Our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and Freedom Grill FG50 inside our garage. We used it this way a few times -- we cooked right on the garage floor like this!
  • A closeup of the Freedom Grill propane tank. It is on the righthand side of the grill itself. Or, you could use an adaptor to attach the Freedom Grill to your own propane tank.
  • The condiment shelf on the front of the Freedom Grill FG50. Notice the hooks for hanging your grilling utensils?
  • A Nissan Titan truck with a Freedom Grill in a camo skin.
  • Jim spotted this Nissan Titan truck decked out in camo at the 2007 SEMA show.
