Before You Buy A Jeep...
Did you know that you can rent Jeeps of various types at most of the national rental car companies? However, the only nationwide rental car company that I know rents Jeep Wranglers is Dollar Rent-a-Car. They have Jeep Wranglers available in most states.
To find other car rental companies that let you rent 4x4 Jeeps that you can take offroad (or not), you'll have to dig a little deeper. Jeep rental companies are typically small, mom & pop shops. And, unless you know what to look for and where to look for them, they can be much harder to find.
So, if you're interested in renting a Jeep (for on- or offroad fun!), check the following list of Jeep rental agencies. It's organized by state...
An article I wrote about the pro's and con's of Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds always been a popular one, but some who are in the market for a new or used Jeep may just be interested in a run-down of the top reasons to buy a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited -- instead of all that detail. Hence, today's post.
First The Facts...
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (TJ) was introduced late in the 2004 model year in a Sport trim. Jeep added the Rubicon trim to the Unlimited model in 2005. And finally, the 4-door model with a longer wheelbase (JK) made its debut in 2007.
Overall, I'd say those who enjoy taking their Jeep Wranglers offroad will appreciate having even more room inside for passengers and cargo with the Unlimited model. But there's actually much more to the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited than just that...
I got an e-mail the other day from JL:
"Have read your post about getting your latest Jeep. Ran across the article while trying to locate an Unlimited for myself (and daughter, and soon to be puppy who will grow leaps and bounds...) Anyway, have you ever found it challenging to locate a decent Wrangler to purchase? Most of the online searches for my area are coming up short, more like 'temporarily out of stock' is the norm, so I thought I'd seek your words of wisdom on the topic."
To JL and other Jeep seekers out there, the best advice I can offer for finding a Jeep Unlimited (especially one that's reasonably priced), is to wait patiently -- because, as you know, they are few and far between.
Other than that, I can share with you what worked for us.
We went through this process three times in search of a used Jeep (once a Wrangler; once a Wrangler Unlimited, and once a Grand Cherokee), and here's what we did each time...
If anyone needs some tips for selling a used vehicle in the Nashville, Tennessee area, I guess you could just ask us.
We ROCK at selling cars! (...or more specifically: Jeeps)
First we sold our 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee in 3 days flat. To do it like we did, you might consider visiting Jose and the guys down at the Super Shine Detail Center in Franklin, Tennessee. Here's why...
Then, this weekend we sold our 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ -- WITHOUT even advertising it! This one went word-of-mouth...
Our 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has been one of the best (and most FUN!) vehicles we have ever owned!
While this brief overview about the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited covers most of the basic points, what follows is an overly-detailed review of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited -- from my own firsthand experience.
